DAYTON, Ohio (Dayton Business Journal) — A Dayton manufacturer has been awarded a workforce grant to support the expansion of its local operation. This expansion will include equipment investment and dozens of new jobs.
Techmetals Inc., a metal finisher, plater and industrial coatings manufacturer, is creating 25 new jobs and will add $1 million in equipment to its facility on Springfield Street in east Dayton. This is the result of expanded manufacturing operations that involves adding new capacity in the medical industry, and building a Nadcap-accredited aviation and Federal Aviation Administration Repair Station base.
To incentivize the expansion, JobsOhio awarded Techmetals with a $50,000 workforce grant. The grant will be used to train employees on a five-axis grinder machine and a new coating technology for aviation, defense and medical work. The grant will also support the high-demand certified electroplater finisher training.
Techmetals also received support from Montgomery County with a $120,000 Economic Development/Government Equity (ED/GE) grant, and a $30,000 development grant from the city of Dayton.
