Techmetals advanced solution control techniques, highly filtered power supplies, computer controlled rectifiers, in conjunction with other state-of-the-art equipment allows us to provide a superior quality coating.  We also have automatic and manual lines.

We provide corrosion and wear resistant certified coatings. In most areas we can accommodate up to 10,000 pounds.  Our large capacity areas reach up to 40,000 lbs.

Techmetals has partnered with large OEM’s and Tier 1 & 2 suppliers. This allows us to help provide a captive in-house shop environment and service at a large job shop company.

An example of this would be our Tin Bismuth Alloy plating process. We developed this for a large OEM and Tier 1 supplier. Their chemical supplier was discontinuing the processes. Techmetals staff engineered and blended our own process to provide and support their needs. Techmetals wet and materials labs controls this process. Our labs are larger than most of our chemical suppliers.

Techmetals has manual and automated lines dedicated to specific accounts, customers,  applications, and industries.  We have become an extension to our customers.

The Nuclear industry has approved lists of materials that must be followed.  These materials can only be used on their parts.  It also shares what type of contaminates are not allowed.

Medical, Automotive, Aerospace, and Defense also have similar requirements as the Nuclear industry.  This is for plating, anodize, passivation, electro-polishing, masking, grinding, blasting, coatings, and physical vapor deposition. That is why Techmetals has dedicated lines.

We have found that the best way to ensure quality, coating consistency, and in field use is to reduce the amount of contaminates that are introduced to critical tanks, plating baths, and pre-treatment lines. Most plating, anodize, PVD, and electro-polishing service companies try to run every type of metal from casting, powder metal, forging, extrusion, or all kinds of ferrous and non- ferrous alloys. Such a wide variety of metals contaminate the line. Not to mention, all the different machine shops that all use different cutting oils, coolant fluids, and rust preventatives that can be synthetic, oil, or water based.  Other issues we see in the industry are that many companies try to run rack and barrel processes on the same lines and tanks without the proper controls. The metal ratios versus the acid or alkaline solution are different for rack and barrel plating.

The best thing customers can do is help support funding for part specific Tooling and Racking. All parts are different.  Specially  designed racks and tooling increase uniformity, capacity, and reduce cost for us and our customers. This allows us to  be much more efficient and provide superior repeatability.
