  • Overcoming adversity: Coping with change Dan Brockman & John Stickel founded Techmetals in 1968. The main focus was to enhance and extend the life of parts. They moved to bigger facilities as demand increased. John had since left the company and Dan moved forward with his new partner, Mike Frantz. In February of 1986 they completed a hard chrome facility and grinding shop. They continued to grow by producing an automatic hard chrome line and an EN line controlled by computers. The company has grown 20% yearly with its competitive improvements. In 1989 they added a training center and a 20,000 square foot building. Techmetals achievements have fallen upon the determination for quality. Such QC capabilities are compliances to MIL-1-45208, MIL-STD-45622, permascope, x-ray fluorescence, profilometer, computerized controllers, ion chromatography, all physical dimensions, and wet labs. There are also Military/AMS specs such as: QQN-290, QQC-320, MIL-26074, MIL-C-23422, AMS2404, AMS2406, AMS2405, and some others. Other specs are: MPR 1059, QQP-35.
